Project 365 - Week 43
Project 365 - One photo a day for a year. Kind of like a photographic journal of my entire year!
Day 288 - My parents wanted a little getaway so they stayed at a hotel about seven miles from our house. It was a nice place on a lake so we stopped by for a visit. It's only little over an hour drive from their house, but they wanted to soak in the atmosphere and just relax. The reason I took the picture of this towel is because I love the way it's folded and I want to do that next time we have guests.
Day 289 - Picked up this wooden mask for my niece to paint while her mom, nana, and I have a little crafty get together.
Day 290 - As much as I tried to fight it, the miserable cold won. Feeling better now.
Day 291 - The hubster likes to use youtube videos to fix things he's never tried before.
Day 292 - Did some super fun shopping all by myself! I got some great decorating ideas and even came home with lots of cute new decorations for Christmas and Thanksgiving.
Day 293 - Working on a new tutorial! Something quick, easy, and can be used for any occasion or holiday. Stay tuned...
Day 294 - One of the things I picked up on my shopping trip were these large apothecary jars. I can't wait to fill them up for Christmas. Going to go a different route this year when decorating my dining room.

Inspiration Shopping on Weekends
Weekends are my flexile days. Some days I'll do projects or work around the house, some days I'll work in the studio, some days I'll go out and about, while other days, I might just slip on my comfies and be a giant slug, all day long!
On these days that I refer to myself as a slug, there is always some Pinterest time involved. I love Pinterest, but don't we all? It's like a big, virtual magazine full recipes, craft projects, photography, decorating ideas, and just plain cool stuff to look at. Back before Pinterest, or even the Internet, I got most of my holiday inspiration from magazines and window shopping. I really miss those days. Yesterday I decided that I wasn't going to sit on my butt and get inspiration, but instead, I was going to hop in my car and drive out to all the fun shops and see it all in person. And that was cool because I also got to take in the scents, touch the items, and talk to real people! And I came home with four large shopping bags of things to decorate the house.
Brian would have gone with me but watching the Bears won over shopping. I don't get it, but that's OK, I had a really good time, and found some really cute holiday decorating ideas. See those Santa wine glasses, yep, I'm going to make some! And they aren't going to cost me $12 each!

Need Assistance? Stop By Youtube!
What did we do before the Internet? Actually, how did we ever get along without Youtube? It doesn't matter if you are trying to replace a washer in your faucet or make a tote bag, pop over to Youtube and you can have a real human being showing you how to do it. Even I have a Youtube channel and right now I have instructional videos for embroidery stitches.
My husband fixed the lights behind the dashboard in his truck today by following along with a Youtube video.

Project 365 - Week 42
Project 365 - One photo a day for a year. Kind of like a photographic journal of my entire year!
Day 281 - I just couldn't get enough of the fall colors this year, they were so beautiful! With the windy and damp weather though, they didn't last long at all. Soon to follow...snow!
Day 282 - Punkie's new prescription food. Now both of my fur children are on special food. Like the little black cat clip I used to close the bag? Got it from Mod Cloth. They have the coolest stuff!
Day 283 - Making two different kinds of brownies for Paige's birthday party.
Day 284 - Baby Paige is eating her birthday cake at her first birthday party. Can you believe it's been a year?
Day 285 - Bought a new box of Lipton tea only to discover that the bags are no longer sealed in individual envelopes. I didn't like this at first, but I bought a really cute glass jar that has a tightly sealed lid.
Day 286 - Score! Yep, found these Hershey chocolate wax melts. I have one burning right now. My house smells like chocolate heaven!
Day 287 - Punkie would like to thank everyone for their prayers and concerns. She's feeling much better now, and is eating as good as usual.

Smart, Fun, and Useful Sewing Tutorials
As much as I love to design patterns, I also love to follow those designed by others. I actually keep a list of links in a nicely organized file of my favorites along with projects I plan to make someday. I'm sharing a few of my favorites here. I didn't just throw a quick list together for a blog post, these are tutorials that are on my "To Do" list for myself or gifts. Oh where to begin......
Earphone Case - Would these make great gifts or what?
First Aid Kit - Everyone could use one of these
Pot Holder with Spatula - Perfect for a hostess gift!
Cute Baby Toys - Now that I am a Nana, I need to make some of these
Padded Camera Lens Cases - I don't need one of these yet, but I might someday!
Cord and Cable Keeper - This is one of the first things on my "To Do" list
Lip Balm or Flash Drive Cases - Yep, making some of these for sure!
See Through Cases - Now I know what to use all that plastic I have for.
Phone Charging Station - I already have the fabric picked out for this one.
Swiffer Wet Jet Pad - This fits mine. I'll save a fortune with these!
Swiffer Pad - This would be for a center nozzle or the dry version.
Cord Keeper - Another first on my list. How handy these will be!
25 Awesome DIY Gadget Projects - I have a few of these on my "To Do" list
Don't forget my tutorials that I have up on a Pinterest board so you can find them easily.

Project 365 - Week 41
Project 365 - One photo a day for a year. Kind of like a photographic journal of my entire year!
Day 274 - Just arrived from our trip to visit Elyse in Austin, Texas. Punkie was so happy to see us return!
Day 275 - After trying this rum during a tasting on our trip, I just had to buy a bottle to have here at home. I haven't opened it yet, but I plan to! So yummy!
Day 276 - I think my mushroom hunting has rubbed off on the hubster. He grabbed my camera and got this picture for me while he was out working in the yard.
Day 277 - One of my awesome blog readers, Angela sent me this gift. This owl will hangout in the studio with me, and I'm thinking of making some little bags with the fabric. She decided on the owl theme because being one of my readers, she knows all about our office owl Howard.
Day 278 - Meijer is probably known as a grocery store, but they have the coolest things for the house! Look at these fun bottles and glasses. Don't really need any, but they are cool!
Day 279 - This day if I want to see Punkie's cute little face, I had to look at my desktop wallpaper. She is at the vet hospital. She's back home now and hopefully she will recover. I wrote about it HERE.
Day 280 - Stopped to take this picture while on my way to pick up Punkie. The colors seem to be more beautiful than in years past. LOVE!

Prayers for Punkie...
UPDATE: I picked up Punkie this morning. She has a kidney problem and is now on special food. Recheck in a month. I got her to eat about a tablespoon of food when we got home. At least she is showing some interest in food. Hopefully she's on the road to recovery. Thanks to everyone for all your good thoughts, wishes, and prayers.
I'm putting a request out there for healing vibes, prayers, whatever you do and whatever it takes for Punkie to get better. She quit eating over the weekend and I dropped her off at the clinic today. They took blood and we are waiting for the other half of the results to come in. The first part looks good. When I talked to them tonight they said that she still won't eat on her own but they are force-feeding her so she does have some food in her tummy. I'm hoping tomorrows results will show something that we can control with medication. I really miss having her here right now and I want to bring her home tomorrow. I'm just so worried because she's a older girl.

I Just Love My Readers!
One of the best things about being active in the blogging community is the people you come across and get to know. Back in April I hosted a giveaway for the book "Craft it Now" to which I was a contributor. Angela won that book and really enjoyed it. She surprised me with these cute gifts. What a nice surprise when I came home from my vacation!
You can visit her blog HERE.
The little owl is a pincushion that will hang with me in the studio and the fabric will make some really cute little bags. The reason she chose an owl theme is because she is familiar with my stories about Howard. We all loved Howard and enjoyed our short time with him. He was a nice little office owl!
Do owls go to Heaven?

Project 365 - Week 40
Project 365 - One photo a day for a year. Kind of like a photographic journal of my entire year!
Day 267 - Hello October! If you are following along on our block of the month, you can pick up October HERE or HERE.
Day 268 - Day one of the drive to visit my daughter in Austin, Texas. We stayed in the Hampton Inn in Texarcana, Texas. If you are ever in this area, I highly recommend this hotel. What's really cool is that I booked the room while we were on the road by using my TripAdvisor app on my cellphone! That app was so helpful during our 20 hours of driving each way.
Day 269 - The first night of our visit we stopped at this wine superstore! Oh where to begin!!! I did leave with a few bottles, plus I was introduced to Blue Chair Bay Coconut Spiced Rum at a tasting. Bought me a bottle of that when I returned home. Yum!
Day 270 - Wine tasting at the Six Shooters Cellars. Elyse and I tasted wine while Brian and Mike sat in the lounge area and waited for us.
Day 271 - Stopped off at the Austin Zoo and Animal Sanctuary. The zoo cares for animals that have all been rescued. Also a non-profit organization. I highly recommend stopping by there if you are in the area, and you can support all their hard work with these animals.
Day 272 - They have beautiful walking trails that run along the river with great views of the city. We walked over four miles on that trail. It was beautiful!
Day 273 - Day one of heading home. I just loved this bridge and look! It's my favorite color combination when it's paired with the beautiful blue sky.

Vacation - Austin, Texas
Good morning friends! I know that I've been absent for a while but for good reason. This past week Brian and I drove out to Austin, Texas to visit my daughter Elyse. We like to keep our trips secret to the Internet until after we return. I just have an uneasy feeling announcing to the entire world that we will be out of town for a week, or should I just say, "Our house will be vacant!" My house is under surveillance (so I can keep an eye on Punkie), I have an awesome friend who comes over everyday to check on her, plus we have great neighbors. But still, I feel uneasy about announcing our absence to the world.
It was fun to see where the kids live, eat at their favorite restaurants, and hike their favorite trails. We even went to a movie theater where they serve you dinner during the movie. You could even have beer or wine if you wanted. And speaking of wine, we stopped by one of the many wineries and did some wine tasting. We also went to Oktober Fest, did some hiking, bummed around the city, and so many other fun things. I can see why they love the area so much!
So, I'm a bit late with my Project 365, but I'll get that up soon. I also have to catch up and visit all my blogging buddies. So if I haven't stopped by yet, I'll be doing that today.

Project 365 - Week 39
Project 365 - One photo a day for a year. Kind of like a photographic journal of my entire year!
Day 260 - This cute little chef is actually a cheese grater. He was a gift from my mom and he sits on my counter top.
Day 261 - This is the first sign of fall.
Day 262 - I confess, my guilty pleasure. I like to watch Sex and the City marathons.
Day 263 - Having some wine with some friends while we chatted over the Internet. We could have gotten together but this sure does beat drinking and driving!
Day 264 - There is that ever so helpful assistant of mine again.
Day 265 - Oh yes, it's the light of my life! Baby Paige!!! Nana loves to babysit her little angel.
Day 266 - All of a sudden our yard has become a breeding ground for all kinds of mushrooms! I've never seen any of them here before.
