Today I'm blogging about blogging. I love blogging! I love visiting and commenting on other blogs, and I love when I go to my email and see nice comments from people who take the time out out to read my posts and comment. Does everyone else feel the same way as I do?
I feel like a real author when sit at my computer and type. It's like my own little magazine or publication and I can write about anything I want. It's my own little corner of the world where I can let people in, and share a little about my life, my hobbies, thoughts, etc. But at the same time, I want to make a blog that people want to come back and visit again and again.
I really love to visit blogs. It's fun to see the day to day lives of people. I especially love to see the craft projects, recipes, photography, diet tips, household tips, people's pets, the wildlife pics or pics of or your latest vacation.
So why do you blog? What kind of things do like to see or not see when you visit a blog?
Photo Above: I empty a basket to organize my next craft projects and Miss Pumpkin has to get in the center of things, literally.
I started blogging on a dare but have come to love it! I love meeting people and connecting with people I wouldn't have met any other way! One of my biggest pet peeves is opening up a new blog page and LOUD MUSIC starts playing. I get that people are trying to set a mood - but often it is not something I would listen to or if it is it is 12:00 midnight here and the whiole house is echoing! It is usually difficult to find the source of the music and shut it off. Maybe it's just me - but I've started avoiding blogs that do this : P
ReplyDeleteI'm new to blogging, but I'm also getting
ReplyDelete"hooked." I'm following you now!

I blog because I just love to write. It is also a great way for me to share my life with extended family and friends who live in all parts of the world. I too do not like blogs that automatically start playing music:):) Also don't like too much advertising, makes it diffult to scroll through.
ReplyDeleteI blog to share information that I learn as I research my vintage items. Some of it is too detailed to put into my Etsy shop listings, but too good to let go. I love reading blogs where you can feel the author's personality come through. I don't mind spelling/grammer errors, as this can be part of the personality coming through to the reader.
ReplyDeleteHi Sher,
ReplyDeleteWhen I first started my blog years ago, I did so because I wanted to help promote my work. Blogging soon turned into much more then that for me. I love to take photos to use for my artwork and blogging has given me a venue to show them , talk about what inspires me and funny enough, blogging keeps me motivated to create and paint. This is something I thought I would never get from a blog but that is the way it has turned out.

It's so addicting to blog hop and yes, get comments on my own blog! I always get a little rush. How fun is it to know that someone that knows nothing about you is enjoying something about what you wrote today??
ReplyDeleteIt's a way to motivate me to make art even when I don't feel inspired; a way to share my knowledge & experience in art & teaching; a way to connect with people on a global scale who have something in common with me; an outlet for my minor pirate obsession; promotion for my artwork...
ReplyDeleteI like to see processes, tutorials, questions, cats, and a pinch of personality thrown in, just for fun.
Great post, Sher!
I love reading blogs that are a nice mix of business and personal life. I try to make my blog the same way.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love posts with photos :)
I originally started blogging to share my digital scrapbooking stuff. I discovered I really didn't have much of a talent for it but I loved blogging. I read a wide variety of blogs and it's not always so much the subject as it is the author of the blog that keeps me coming back. I tend to shy away from blogs that don't do pictures. I'm not crazy about a big wall of words...lol
ReplyDeleteI blog because everybody said i should. I kept putting it off forever and ever! I know how much work goes into promoting and maintaining a blog. But I still enjoy sharing my world with the rest of the world, that's why i like to blog:):):):)
ReplyDeleteyou can follow me here on my new blog about handmade crochet: http://chainonecrochets.blogspot.com/

I just recently started blogging to chronicle and share my adventures of quitting my day job. It's a been a couple of months now and it is scary! I'm hoping to meet others in a similar situation to exchange experiences and sort of "shore one another up". I also heard blogging was a good promotional tool. Promotion has never been my strong point and it was time to stop saying that and just get on with finding ways to do it!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I like the look of your blog. It's very inviting. Really looks more like a regular website. I'll have to learn more about how to do that. I pretty much just went with the basic set-up and chose a colorful background! Here it is:

I love blogging. It's a way for me to document our lifestyle, share ideas and inspiration, and just put my mind at ease. I also enjoy reading what others have to share from their little corners of the world. Thanks for instigating a nice conversation here!
