The Seasons
We ran into WalMart over the weekend to pick up some citronella candles and I thought for sure they'd be in the seasonal aisle but I was wrong. They were hidden in the back of the garden center because the seasonal aisle now contained back to school supplies. They could have at least slashed the price!
Then it got me thinking...in a couple more weeks those aisles will be taken over by black cats, pumpkins, and spiders. I'll bet Halloween won't be here yet before we see Christmas decorations! How fast does time fly?
It also got me thinking about the seasons and what I like (and dislike) about all of them. So here goes:
Winter - The snow sure is pretty but I hate driving in it. Christmas is a great time and so festive, but then there's that great big dead space between January and early April. I think Winter is my least favorite.
Spring - Gotta love Spring! It lets you know that nice weather is just around the corner and you get that feeling where you want to get out and enjoy life! The bad side of spring, I can't think of one.
Summer - Summer is awesome with it's farmer's markets, festivals, and other various activities. The downside, the high heat and humidity. The up side of that....I can jump in my pool to cool off!
Fall - Oh yes! My favorite season of all! The air is crisp and the colors take my breath away. The best mushrooms can be found and this is my favorite season for hiking. I just LOVE FALL!
So, do you have a favorite season and why?
Spring is my favorite. I love the clean new green of everything, and the spring flowers are exquisite - lilac, tulip, daffodil, lily of the valley, forget me nots, hyacinth, etc.
ReplyDeleteFall is 2nd, love it too!
I love the winter. I know it sounds crazy but living in San Diego, we don't get much weather so I love nothing more than when the whole family is inside playing a game or eating soup and it's cold and rainy outside. It doesn't happen very often here!
ReplyDeleteI don't know which season I like the most. I think it might be fall because it's not unbearably hot and all my favorite holidays occur during this time. I really love the summer because of the sun, the warmth, and all the fun activities. I'm not a huge fan of the spring because I have terrible allergies and there is always at least two weeks where I feel like I'm going to die.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Fall!! Can;t wait for it! :) Summer here in FL is WAY too hot!
ReplyDeleteI love fall too!! The weather is perfect! and the colours are so incredible... i can never get over the beauty. And every year I'm just so sorry to see it go!
ReplyDeleteSher, you and I think alike about the seasons!
ReplyDeleteHi Sher:
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the Winter. I like the Fall and Spring the most, and Summer days that are under 90 degrees!!
Paw waves to Bubba,
Jenya
I love Spring and Fall the best...just because the weather is at its best, not too hot and not too cold:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sher for checking out my writeup on Prismma:):)
Fall is also my favorite. I love Spring, but my allergies do not!!
ReplyDeleteI hate the way the stores push things through and rush the seasons.
ReplyDeleteI love all the seasons except for winter. It lasts too long and it's too cold. I'll admit it's pretty but only if you can watch it out your own window.
I'm another Fall fan. Fall means the summer heat is over! No more sweating when walking, baking feels fun again! : )
ReplyDeleteI have terrible allergies in June and July, so those are my least favorite months. Other than that, I enjoy watching the seasons change.
ReplyDeleteI love Spring, Summer, and Fall....and Winter in Florida has to be better than anywhere else, at least we don't have snow!
ReplyDeleteI love Spring! After a long, cold, icy, dark, Midwestern winter, I am so happy to see green leaves, flowers and sunshine! I also love the smell of fresh air after a Spring rain. The down side of Spring? MUD!!!! (I grew up on a farm.)
ReplyDeleteOh I'm just living for FALL! I feel like I'm gonna die in this Tx heat. 107 degrees days are just not right. Fall has always been my favorite! The crispness makes me giddy. I just hope we have a fall this year...
