Construction has begun in my future studio! Punkie is probably not happy about it. She once had a king sized bed to lounge on, and now, she has a little pet bed that sits on top of my big box of beads. She does occasionally find her way to our bed but I think she misses the giant bed in her room, which is soon going to be my room. I just can't wait til it's all done!!! I do have a lot of things I can do while I wait. I can make curtains, storage containers, and my studio sign. I wonder how long it's going to take me to wrap all my fabric onto the comic book backing boards? Should I rethink the open fabric storage?
Awww, poor Punkie!! I know our pets don't like it when things are changing in 'their' house... they even get a bit nervous. Punkie will probably find a new favorite place to nap, meanwhile how exciting for you! Looking forward to hearing about your updates.
WooHoo...I bet you're super excited to see it all come together! The fabric storage might be time consuming to start off, but I think you'll like the open storage idea so you can see exactly what you have :) Hope Punky finds a comfy new spot to sleep :)
They say that change is as good as a rest! Maybe, once all the banging is over and done with, Punkie will actually enjoy her new surroundings! Meanwhile, we can all enjoy hearing about, and watching, how your new work surroundings turn out. Good luck, all round!

Poor Punkie! I'm sure Punkie will soon find a new favorite spot once all the work is done. I love the idea of open fabric storage. What a great way to be inspired just by walking into your studio and seeing all the colorful fabrics.
I've tried open fabric storage and it is a wonderful inspiration helper and time saver. I did find one draw back however. I have had fabric fade, lose colour due to direct light on them. Both direct natural light and artificial light will fade some dyes. I now rotate or refold to prevent this. Nothing like the guilt a dispossed cat makes you feel. ;)
Poor Punkie! Change is tough. Best of luck with the final stages.
ReplyDeleteCats hate construction and remodeling projects! Even a simple room rearrangement ticks them off! LOL
ReplyDeleteFor the fabric: which way takes the least amount of space?
keep us posted on the progress!

A man doing work around the house -- always a pleasant sight!
ReplyDeleteChange is hard. Hoping Punkie will adjust.
ReplyDeleteI vote to stay with open fabric storage. I just love seeing a rainbow of colors
as I sew.
