OK, I can hear all the sounds of discomfort now, all the oh no's, and all the gasps. After all, it's only late August. But I would also imagine there are a lot of you out there that think there isn't enough time between now and then. Many of my friends are preparing for Holiday craft shows, and some are making Christmas presents and tucking them away.
I personally fall into both categories. I don't do Holiday craft shows but I've been working on some new Christmas pattern designs to introduce in my shops. I'm also working on a new free blog tutorial that would be cute for decorating, or gift giving. I've also got a little start on some gift making.
It seems as though my Internet life has taken a backseat for a while. My blog posts are further apart, and I rarely make to the Etsy teams. As for facebook, my business fan page is pretty much non-existent, and my personal one I just hop on occasionally to see if there are any new pictures from family and friends.
Christmas is always on my mind. When a gift idea hits, I must strike while the iron's hot!...so to speak. And the holidays are sneaking up fast!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to get ready for Christmas early. Once August ends, it seems that the holidays come upon us VERY fast! I too am finding less and less time for online activities, the business of life has been leaving me very little time. I'm sure that will add to the feeling of the holiday season approaching even quicker!
ReplyDeleteNeed more time! I still have sooo much to do to get ready!!
ReplyDeleteI just started working on some holiday prints too. It is way too early and I hate worrying about Christmas in August but you gotta be prepared!
ReplyDeleteI haven't thought too much of the holidays yet. There are a few gift ideas that I'm thinking about in general but I haven't started stocking up yet.
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of split on the holidays, too. I am not one to do lots of Christmas shopping early, but I do try to stay ahead for Etsy and the holiday shows so I'm not scrambling all of October and November. How sweet that Bubba adopted your new quilt.
ReplyDeleteAside from the handmade side of it I try to hold off on Christmas. I've also cut way back on what I do for the holiday
ReplyDeleteWell since my boys are December babies {17th and 24th} plus 2 other family birthdays I am already thinking of the holidays:( There is really only 3 full months left!!! Oh geeze I better get shopping. And as far as Etsy and blogging go, I have spent very little time on both:( wish I had more time to devote to etsy.
ReplyDeleteMore time PLEASE! I have 5 craft shows before now and then. I have been thinking about Christmas, though. I have bought my girls their Christmas jammies (I used to make them). Still need to get my boys theirs. Other than that I have a long way to go before I have anything near ready for the holidays.
ReplyDeleteIt's never too early to get our shops ready for the holidays. They always seem to sneak up on me, so the earlier I can start the better! My first show is on September 15th, so I need to get an early start this year!
ReplyDeleteI also need more time! I only do one craft fair in the Fall, but I need to increase my Etsy inventory before the holidays, and with 9 grandkids, the Christmas list is long. I start early, looking for bargains, and keep a computerized Christmas list so I have at least half my shopping done before Black Friday. Things will get busier at my seasonal job in late November through early January, so all the more reason to get ready NOW.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh...that's how I feel! I know it sneaks up so fast and it's sad to already be feeling the push! I know this year I won't be able to do any craft shows, I'm just not where I want to be with my new line. I'll be lucky to get any new items in the shop before then! But, on a personal note, I'm excited to make homemade gifts again!
ReplyDeleteI was shocked to see halloween things up in the stores. I think I am in denial about the coming holiday seasons--I am not ready!
