You know how they say to be very careful to know exactly who you are texting or emailing before hitting the SEND button. If you are not careful, you can get yourself into some serious trouble! Below is my personal experience with this issue:
INCOMING TEXT FROM BRIAN: I’m bored. I wish I could come
home.
MY REPLY: You know, I really wish you would just meet some
nice girl then you’d have lots to do. I love you.
Five minutes later the phone rings and it’s my husband calling
me from work. I hear him on the other end saying, “What the heck did you just
say to me?” OK, so he didn’t actually say “heck.”
What happened here is that my husband’s name is Brian and my
son’s name is Bryan
(spelled differently). My son was living in Houston at the time. When I got the text message I assumed it was from my son.
When he said he wished he could come home, I thought he meant home to Indiana . So my husband got that text message that was meant for my son.
Had I looked at the name before sending the text message,
this would not have happened. At least this was a comical situation and no
feelings were hurt.
My son did move back to Indiana a year ago and came to visit tonight.
I cooked us up some marinated chicken on the grill. If you’ve never tried those
marinades in the bottles, you are missing out! Also felt the need to whip up
some chocolate chip cookies since they are his favorites.
Brian must've sat and stared at that text for a few minutes!!
ReplyDeleteIt must have been so funny!
I'm sure there are many people who have done a lot of damage with the wrong text sent to the wrong person!
OOoops! All's well that ends well. My 29-year-old bachelor son in DC needs to meet a nice girl, too. His life seems to be all work with a smattering of sports and a totally empty frig.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I bet your hubby was quite shocked! I haven't ever done this, but I'm sure it happens all the time.
ReplyDeleteI grill all the time, and love it! Chicken is a fave around here, and there are probably a million ways to cook it!
LOL! That is funny Sher! You're right, we do need to be careful when texting and emailing... Good advice!
ReplyDeleteYour dinner sounds yummy!! :)
My husband would have been so happy if I sent him a text like that LOL
ReplyDeleteHa, ha, I loved that one:):) Indeed we are all moving so fast, that it is so easy to make this mistake. Good thing it was to your husband and not someone else:):)
ReplyDeleteWhat your husband must have thought??!! Must bring lots of laughs each time the story is told!
ReplyDeleteLOL! That is too funny! I'm glad your husband called to get it straightened out :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! There's a website called "Wrong Number Texts" or something very similar. You should look it up! Hilarious.
ReplyDeleteOh that is too funny ;-) New follower from EBT!! I love your heading with the fun mushroom pics! I posted a few on my blog recently that I found while camping last month.
ReplyDeleteHahha! Oh man, I hate when that happens!! I've done that before.
ReplyDeleteHaha! That is too funny!!
ReplyDeleteOh boy!
ReplyDeleteI have heard the stories, but have only just gotten my first phone EVER a two months ago so everything is pretty precise with me since I don't know what I'm doing lol
That is too funny! I'm sure you all got a good laugh from that one!
ReplyDeletehahaha. Very funny and a good reminder that technology can sometimes be too fast for our own good :)
ReplyDeleteVery funny! I haven't done that yet but I am always afraid of it happening;)
