I just love quick little projects! I also love to learn new techniques. I've been wanting to make myself a little zipper bag to throw in my purse to hold those tiny little items that will just get lost in the bottom. I was never happy with the way my zippers came out. I'm not sure if they didn't look even, or maybe, they just looked unprofessional, and unfinished. I did some research on zipper techniques and I found a great tutorial on a really cute blog. After I decided that this was the little bag I wanted to make, it took me another hour to head into my sewing room because I got lost on her blog. She's a talented seamstress and her blog is fun and interesting.
I can think of a thousand things to use these little bags for. You can adjust the size as you wish. She gives you a great tip as to how big the zipper should be in relation to the fabric. Each bag took way less than an hour, in fact, you can probably make them both in about an hour. What a cute way to present a little gift to someone too.

Thanks Sher! The tutorial makes this seem a little less daunting. It looks do-able!
ReplyDeleteThese are great little zipper bags!
ReplyDeleteI always avoided anything that had a zipper in it. Maybe it's time I overcome my fear of the zipper :) Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for a tutorial! Thanks Sher!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the tutorial. Love the neat ends.
ReplyDeleteI've never been good with zippers. My machine is an inexpensive one -- never had a zipper foot. (Not sure that would even help me anyway.) Looks like you did a wonderful job on the pouch.
ReplyDeleteI was looking for a homemade project for my girls I never thought I'd come across your blog. I think we'll have great fun bonding doing this with my ladies. Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteThose little bags are very useful. I have a couple. But I did not make them! Zippers are scary to me. I do have a new sewing machine (which I've barely used) so maybe it will be easier.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this. I did visit Kelly's tutorial. I do like a neat finish. Thanks for visiting my blog too.
ReplyDeleteI would love to try and make one of these but I am just a beginner and yeah the zipper scares me too:))
