Oh wow! In just two weeks I will officially be on Medicare. I already feel old enough but then I receive THIS packet in the mail. Yep! Assisted devices catalog. I am not taking this sitting down. Not I. For the past two years I have really started working very hard on myself. After seeing what my elderly parents go through in their later years, I'm not thinking that is what I want for myself. I've been really working on strength, balance, endurance, and mental health. I feel blessed that I've reached this far in life and I'm not going to take it for granted. I've been working hard at this because I want to enjoy what's left of my life the best way I can.
I don't know if any of you have ever watched the very
popular show called "The Golden Girls," but it's always been a
favorite of mine. I really believe that the golden girls of today are much
different than they were back then. I'm not ready for baggy clothes and that
dowdy look. I believe we can be fit and healthy at any age. I'm looking ahead
with an adventurous spirit. Who’s with me on this?
I recently came across a hiking challenge and I am pumped! Hiking has always been my favorite activity. I'm lucky enough to live by The Indiana Dunes and they have trails from easy strolls to rugged like Trail 8, also known as the 3 Dune Challenge. Here are a few links you might enjoy. One is for the 3 dune challenge, and the other is for the Spring Hiking Challenge, and you can live anywhere to do it.
With all that said, I will still take advantage of my senior discount!
