What's in Your Vitamin Cabinet?
As many of my readers know, I've been taking the road to good health very seriously. I've been exercising 4 to 5 days a week, eating so much better, and have even lost 5 pounds! I've probably lost a little more but I wasn't brave enough to get on the scale until a couple weeks into the program.
I've also been taking vitamins and supplements. Several years ago I took them all regularly and I swear I was in much better health and felt a lot better. So I've been taking them once again.
The ones I take everyday:
Women's Multi - Hopefully this will make up for what I miss in my foods.
CoQ10 - My personal FAVORITE. This is actually an enzyme that your own body produces. As we age, our bodies don't produce this as much. It's an immunity booster and it rebuilds your important cells. I will never go without taking this one again!
B12 - Little energy booster
Potassium - Helps with those late night muscle cramps in my old legs
Calcium - Just started taking this. My dentists advises.
Vitamin C - Hopefully it will help keep away all those colds!
I hope you don't mind but I'll be sharing some good health tips from time to time.

Congrats on the weight loss!
ReplyDeleteYou take some of the same vitamins I do. Here's my daily list...
Womens Multi
iron x 2
C x 2
B12
fish oil x 2
calcium x 2
prescription potassium (powder form mix w/water) 3 x a week and it is disgusting!
D3 x 2
and then my scrips on top of that.
I have been being good food wise, and am interested in your tips!
Have a great weekend Sher!
I know I should but I don't take any vitamins. I have in the past but didn't really feel any difference.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for taking such good care of your health!
ReplyDeleteI eat lots of fresh fruit and veggies, so I don't take additional Vitamin C. I supplement my food with fish oil and garlic ;-) capsules!
Congrats on the weight loss! I'm a CoQ10 taker, too.
ReplyDeleteThough I don't have any troubles yet, my doctor says I'm a walking billboard for osteoporosis...so he has me on Calcium supplements. I also eat yogurt and drink a glass of milk almost daily.
ReplyDeleteThen I take two other Rx meds as well.
I take the women's multi, too. It's so big..blech! I also take biotin for my hair and nails. I've really seen major results in how quickly my hair grows!

ReplyDeleteI just started taking Ocuvite. It's for eye health. Macular degeneration seems to run in my family, so I am eating more fish and trying this, too. Who knows?
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you, Sher, on sticking with the exercise and better eating!
Congrats to you! I should take more supplements, but I do eat rather healthily and exercise often. I'm looking forward to your good health tips :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the weight loss and good to hear that you're on a healthier path. Ive just been eating a lot of fruits and veggies. =)

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the healthy living.
ReplyDeleteBecause of my kidneys I actually do not take vitamins; maybe an occasional vitamin c. But I have been focused on eating as cleanly as possible and have been exercising again.
I look forward to the tips.

Wonderful post. I too, take CoQ10. Do you take the Ubiquinone or Ubiquinol form?
ReplyDeleteI have been reading that Ubiquinol would be the better form to take.
Congrats on your weight loss and living a healthier lifestyle!
