The Datebook Wins!

Everyone who knows me, knows that I love my electronics. I have a laptop, smartphone, and tablet PC. My digital camera lives in my purse and I never leave home without it, even when I take Bubba for a walk. You never know what you're going to see.

However, when it comes to my calendar and my To Do list, I want to see it on paper. I've been using the Lang pocket calendar for as far back as I can remember and that's where I put all my appointments and special events. Wouldn't want to be without it. As for the To Do list, I like to see my list, and I like to cross off my tasks after they are completed.

I gave the electronic calendars and To Do lists a try, but they just didn't work for me.

So how much do you depend on electronics?

Blue frames in photo are from my Frames Templates Set and the teapot is from my Tea Time Set. Both can be found at my Etsy Shop.

  1. I use a to do list on paper, too. I write my appts. on the calendar. I do love my computer, cell phone, and I just broke my digital camera so need a new one. I would be lost without these electronic necessities!

  2. I often use text files to take notes if something comes to my mind surfing the web, but then I abandon on the desktop and ignore them for months. So, I'd say I'm still depending on pencil and paper for must-do lists!

  3. I also love electronics, I love having my computer and my iPhone, and enjoy a lot of the apps, etc... But I always use a paper calendar too Sher! I've tried keeping a calendar on my computer, but it doesn't work for me. These days I even keep track of my orders, mailing dates I have to shoot for, etc. on a paper calendar... I've been so busy with orders that I find it keeps me organized that way.

  4. I can't use electronic calendars or to do lists either, because they're not right in front of my face. I have to click several buttons to see them, and for me, that defeats the whole purpose of a to do list. It's a reminder!

  5. I completely agree. I love my electronics, but I have to SEE my calendar and to do lists!

  6. Electronics are wonderful! My iPhone has become my big gotta have tech piece. It has my datebook, my Etsy store, blog, contacts, etc. I can also charge your credit card through Intuit with a card reader attached to my phone. I have an app called Errands and it is the calendar/organizer I use. I can put things on my calendar and my phone will remind me (as much as I like) of the date. I can organize it by type too (appointment, business, baseball game, etc.) It also has a check list that I use for groceries and shopping. You touch the box and it moves it from the list. I love my computer too. I use it for pictures and maintaining my websites. Did I mention iPhone has an app to synchronize all your electronics? Makes it all so easy.

  7. I keep my calendar on my phone, which syncs with my work computer's calendar. But I love to write out my to-do lists. It feels so great to cross something off when I'm finished!

  8. I try so hard to organize my life on my iPod, and I just can't. I have to use paper, too!

  9. I am the same way! I have to keep all of my to do lists on paper. I do use the calendar on my Blackberry, but my daily lists of things to get done are all on paper.

  10. I don't really keep a daily calendar anymore, but I used to be really fond of At-A-Glance. Now I just write my few appointments on the wall calendar in the kitchen. Yep, my life is just that uneventful!

  11. I don't bother with to do lists or calendars. I don't really have all that much to keep track of any way. I do depend on my electronic gadgets though. I don't know if I could live without them any more

  12. There's something about writing it down and looking at it on paper that makes it stick a little bit more to memory for me. I've tried the e-versions, but it's just not the same!

  13. I'm pretty old-school -- I like to see it in writing! To-do lists have to be in front of me or I'll never get them done! Although grocery lists tend to be left behind on the kitchen table....

  14. I also would like to do it in writing however on very busy times I use electronics. I won't deny the fact that gadgets are very useful in a case basis.
